Chief Machinist’s Mate.

Clifton E. Boyd was born in 1893 and served in the US Navy during World War I. He was a Machinist at the Torpedo Station in Newport, RI. Mr. Boyd was the Owner of Boyd’s Mill, a 150 year old mill in Portsmouth.  He passed away in 1978 is buried in the Union Cemetery on East Main Road, in Portsmouth, RI.
